science of solitaire

i find your science of solitaire
deep in the grounds of your empire
it’s inscrutable like an ancient riddle
i’m trapped by your exhausting words

this bleep of silence
resonating the gravity of us
our coercion is not wedlock
there’s a heart-rending story

you stand at the pinnacle of desperation
thinking of us and ponder demise
the rift that hurts like stabs of a dagger
it’s a weepie inching our romance

Oh sakes, this is great Chester. I wanted to stop by and check out how your writings going, and I see it’s lovely. Thank you so much for always stopping by to read. Thanks so much for this one.

For me, what unlocked this poem after a couple of readings is the last line of the first stanza: “I’m trapped by your exhausting words” and I realize this is a romantic relationship between the narrator and the you. The last stanza doesn’t say that this relationship will survive or not because there’s pondering. I like the fact that the future remains vague as it should be.
Nice one and thanks for following!

I like this Chester……..even though it is kind of abstract, it resonates and connects with the readers soul………be encouraged to continue developing your talent…….Blessings!…….Kim
