slow hours

slow hours—

familiar cavaliers
lazily watch the
selfish sun dragging
the clouds and
the rhythm of
thunderstorms hit
thousand ears of
frenzied babies

i force myself to
stabilize the wicked
raindrops outside
and pacify the
noise of the skies

slow hours—

when mothers stop
to babysit their children
and gamble thru
mahjong and poker

i wrap myself on
winter sheets when
cold is the season
and love is drifting
from the fireplace
of december minutes

slow hours—

when everything
is like a frozen
picture of busy life

i judge the sunday
weddings of teenage
couples too early
to settle down

slow hours—

i’m wasting this
cupid counting on
sleepless nights

the joke is on us
when we let the
funny and unclean talks
apprehend our senses
and almost taunting us
to an easy death

slow hours—

i end this thinking

  2. I believe that millions are missing the silence in our society. Very thought provoking blog. Thanks

  3. Really like the use of sound; assonance rather than rhyme gives it a rich oral quality. I love it when poetry is more than just some ideas.
