sadness entraps
me in denims
tangled in watermelon
shirt and boots
where dandelions
tease the field of
the east

i’m all day me
on this spring afternoon
thinking of your crooked
teeth and pardoned hair

i’m all downtime
idle and free
this is breaking me
just another blue
