we’re on a line
of east and west
too far to touch
too near to hear

This is very romantic and lovely!
too near to hear…Love that! Reminds me of when we are too close to a situation to be objective…
First time I’ve come across your blog. Love your unique voice!
nice flow, here, Chester. I liked the idea of the lips departing with words, like kissing goodby to love or greeting it with a smooch, depending on how you interprit the poem. Nicely done!
also liked the line (as mentioned by Diana) ‘too near to hear’. this was a brilliant reflection of an oral version of ‘can’t see the wood for the trees’.
Love your poetry!
worthy of much thinking, this one.
departure is love its always painful but with love its different a very Delicious pain
i loved the way you played with words totally lovely
