smokes spiraling in nostalgia heights
left a chronic sting in my eyes

absence of rain is obvious summer
humid on my skin and drought to the fields

children picking pebbles on the sand
in nonchalance of the monster sun

green coconut trees stand side-by-side
like domino tiles and toy soldiers

where thoughts are aching as funerals
where dreams are floating in decimals
