valentine’s day

gold sunrise
lighting from
this window
inside my room
where hearts
tuck in arrows
and love is the
beginning of today

valentine smiles
wrap in red
feathers and
we love each
other so deeply
we forget to
say our prayers

winter ends in
fire sparks
of orange hue
so much to see
of human iris
and dancing daffodils
corrupt the day

cradle we are
in sweet hours
of a part-time
reverie here
until we sleep

Valentine smiles, made me smile in response. ( and long for my toasty warm duvet) x
