You Hate What I Am

I knew from the start.
From how you connected,
to how you avoided.

Those actions told
me the reality, the
truth of what you felt.

We were walls who
stood quietly
together.

I was ignored,
bashed, unaccepted,
and hated.

That’s why I
left and realized how
much you abhorred me.
