colors of the myriad

cliché life is when
sucked in a vacuum
of abyss and darkness
floating slowly
revealing glitters
and sparks of
thousands upon
thousand colors

there are blood red’s
there are ocean blue’s
there are earth brown’s
there are monster green’s
there are lemon yellow’s

the nature of us
paints on a canvass of
instincts and genres
gently brushed through
the colors of the myriad

  1. Chester, your words paint a beautiful picture. I especially like the last line, “the colors of the myriad.” Life would certainly be boring in grayscale. Thank you for writing this poem to remind us of the subtleties nature and human nature afford.

  2. Thank you for appreciating this poem. Before I wrote this, I was contemplating how life is without the colors of human nature and the colors of circumstances. When we’re sucked in a vacuum, we have this strength to float and it reveals the true colors of us 🙂
